The Republican response to the Black Panthers just goes to show what the Republican party really is, it is a constitutional party until it gets in the way of something they're afraid of. These days it seems all Republicans can talk about is what they're afraid of, and the constitution is given no real respect, just lip service. Their ideology is closer to the Nation of Islam (of Farrakhan, not Warith Deen) than to the black Panthers of the 60s. With that said, it's Bobby Seal (co founder of the black Panthers) that hates the new black Panthers. So it doesn't even really matter since most Black nationalists followed Huey P Newton (the other co-founder) who is seen as the face of the Panthers.
